Code Geass R2 21

Charles: How ironic. You desire the truth from others? You, who lied the entire way to this point?

Lelouch: You’re right. I have always been creating lies. Not just my name and past, but hiding my true intentions in their entirety. But, is it not a given? One tries to fit in with the dialogue of others, trying to mesh with the situation. Without that, countries, races, bodies known as communities wouldn’t exist. Everyone knows how to use lies. In front of family, in front of friends, in the presence of society, everyone puts on a different mask. Yet, is that a sin? What is one’s true face? Even you are wearing the mask known as the emperor. At this point, we cannot walk around without personae.

Today’s Dream

Posted by lucidfox.org at

This dream was a “what-if” scenario for Code Geass, in which Lelouch never met C.C. and never received his Geass.

So in the dream, Lelouch and Suzaku found themselves together against Britannia, then were sent into outer space (onto an orbital station?). Meanwhile, C.C. was brought to the Emperor and treated him and V.V. in the same creepy-cool-deadpan manner as Lelouch in the actual show. And still meanwhile, in Area 11, Governor Nunnally proved herself uncooperative with the people backing her, so they tried to replace her with one of themselves and were met with public protests chanting Nunnally’s name.

“Luluko of the [cough] Rebellion”

Ah, artwork of a female Lelouch. I didn’t think I would ever find it.

In all seriousness, Lelouch is already charismatic enough that if I was any less… gynephilic, I would totally fall for him. But a female Lelouch? Yes. Yes! Definitely!

And I can totally see Maia-of-dreams looking like the first picture. With or without glasses, really. Not the second, though — that face is, strangely enough, too masculine even by male Lelouch’s standards.

Dreams as Inspiration

In a relatively recent dream, I was Lelouch trying to escape some kind of grim ghetto that has just been bombarded and left me cut off from my allies. Along the way, I found Ohgi and Kallen, and together we made way through the dark crumbling corridors to what was apparently a child labor factory combined with a school.

I entered through a narrow window-like passage leading to a ramp descending to the factory floor. As I saw the children gather around the ramp, I geassed them to “make way”, and they did as I slid down.

Later on, just for amusement, I geassed a random kid to “drop down your pants and whizz on the teacher”, and he did. It was no doubt inspired by this article.

While I’m at it, the earlier dream’s “ignore me” Geass command gave me the idea for an original Geass power to give to an original character in a Code Geass fanfic that I, in the end, may or may not write depending on the mood.

Today’s Dream

The dream began with scenes involving me meeting Code Geass‘s Schneizel, Cornelia, and Euphemia.

Later, I apparently had a second home in Akademgorodok. Not only that, but I didn’t bother taking a transport from my actual home there and just walked the whole distance on foot; it seemed shorter in the dream than in real life.

When I reached that apartment, which was in an old two-story building, I found Russell T. Davies there and was going to ask him various questions about Doctor Who, most particularly about his inspirations and plot twists. However, before I got the chance, my parents came, and I had to part with him.

Later on, I came to the backyard, where I met a gang of typical repulsive, unsophisticated tough street boys. They took light blue paper packs of male hormones, while I took a pink paper pack of female hormones, “portrayed” (I guess) completely unrealistically as a powder in the style of dry drinks (Zuko) that were popular in early 90s Russia. After I poured its contents into my mouth, I woke up.

Dream Highlights

Three dreams in a row were related to Death Note, Code Geass, and then Death Note again.

1. My imagination’s attempt at envisioning the post-Yotsuba arc, since I stopped watching after L’s death. The investigation team used to gather in a room suspiciously resembling my grandmother’s kitchen. In the dream’s Death Noteverse, not only was Light the second L, but L’s real name was also Light.
2. Me as Zerolouch, discussing battle plans with Kallen in a dark room, surrounded by the rest of the Black Knights.
3. Something else I don’t remember.

I will refrain from reposting yesterday’s dream in detail, especially since the scene it ended on (and I woke up to) was quite squicky even by this blog’s standards.

Both it and today’s dream heavily revolved around the quasi-Akademgorodok stock dream setting, with its complicated traffic routes, buses, and buildings based on real locations. Not only that, but the coastline of the Ob Sea was molded (keywords for a previous dream recalled when writing this: Berd Highway; two-way train; incomplete bridge; wet island) with a pseudo World of Warcraft coast, apparently loosely based on Desolace and Feralas, with weird zone borders like in most of Kalimdor.

A weird detail that particularly struck was me introducing my grandmother to some kind of deep immersion Diablo II in the draenei starting zone.

On Voice

Lelouch’s theatrical, over-the-top voice is an ear worm rivaling even songs from that anime. All too often, even at work now, I hear “Lelouch vi Britannia commands you…” echoing in my head.

Frustratingly, it extends to daydreams and fantasies. When my imaginary voice shifts to Lelouch’s, it always cracks me up. Such a Large Ham, indeed.

‘Lelouch vi Britannia commands you: Obey me, world!’

Song Quote

I felt your light as it shone in my mind and the emptiness crumbled away.
I looked above and I saw a sky that was cloudless and perfectly blue,
So I decided to open up the lock on my thoughts.
And in a flash my whole world was changing, evolving into something new —
That precious moment will always be here in my heart.
